Internal Mediation and Guidance:
Pathways provides classroom observations,
support and guidance, and internal mediation
when disputes between district and parent cannot
be resolved using other avenues. Mediation
differs from other forms of advocacy in that
Pathways remains impartial to both district and
parents, advocating solely for what is in the
best interests of the child. Presently, Internal
Mediation services are offered only in special
circumstances, but Parent Action Center (PAC) trainings
are currently underway so that this type of
service will soon be available in other
communities as well. See page 2 of our
April
Newsletter for more information about PAC.

Meetings and Conferences
Guest speakers are invited to present valuable
information to parents, caregivers and
professionals. Meetings are held throughout the
year
and conferences, annually. Information on these
events is sent out regularly to our members
through our mailing list and can usually be found in our newsletter
and posted on our website. To become a member

Sibling Support Group
This program is
designed to give siblings of children with
special needs an opportunity to come together,
share experiences, receive support and make new
friends while participating in activities and
games. This program is based on demand and not
run on a regular basis. You may email us at
mvtpec@aol.com
to request to be placed on a list for the next
