Lead Mentors from Montville Twp, Morris Plains, and Cranford testified on January 20, 2010 before the State Board of Education in Trenton, NJ. Their mission –– to promote "authentic” inclusion of all students in their communities and schools. Their yellow t-shirts had "Include ME!" written on the front. The KIC-Start Award Goes to...

At Pathways' Dream It Forward Conference in November 2009, Lead Mentors Stephanie Jennis, Rusty Van Riper, and Nayna Shah presented their 2009-2010 Kids Inspire Change Award to Dr. Roberta Wohle and Mr. Robert Haugh of the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) for Dare to Dream, a statewide leadership and advocacy program for children with special needs, run by the New Jersey Department of Education.

about Inspiring Change

In December 2008, the Lead Mentors were invited to speak to mentors from Morris Plains, NJ about the work they are doing in legislation, advocacy, and new programs. The photo shows Stephanie Jennis giving a presentation on leadership to the Morris Plains mentors at Powerhouse Studios.


Morris Plains Receives Lead Mentor “KIC Start Award”

Pathways Lead Mentors raised money to award  to a community for designing a recreation program for children with disabilities in keeping with Pathways' Children Teaching Children model. This award, called the “Kids Inspire Change (KIC Start) Award, went to Morris Plains, NJ for starting a Friendship Circle as part of their Kids Helping Kids program. The program is run by Morris Plains Recreation while the Morris Plains Municipal Alliance coordinates the mentor side.
