    Get Involved

There are many ways you can help.

Become a member of Pathways!

Do I need to have a child with special needs to join Pathways?  No, membership is open to everyone. Pathways for Exceptional Children believes every child is exceptional, which is why we developed our mentoring program, which gives children without special needs a key role in our recreational, educational, and leadership programs. Pathways also provides opportunity for everyone—from senior citizens, businesses, and other organizations—to get involved.

What types of disabilities does Pathways focus on? Pathways does not focus on any one specific type of disability. Our primary focus has always been based on decreasing the 70% national unemployment rate for all people with disabilities of any kind.

Does Pathways provide only educational assistance?  No, Pathways has a vast array of recreation programs that teach sports, life and social skills, and mentoring. Pathways also offers family support services, including topic meetings, education committees, women’s and sibling’s support groups, and Pathways Home-Based Buddies program.

Membership benefits:  Membership support helps expand Pathways’ programs for children throughout the state. Membership also provides discounted rates to our events, topic meetings, conferences and training courses. To download a membership form, click here.

Be a volunteer!
Pathways is always in need of volunteers. You do not have to reside in Montville Township or have a child with special needs to volunteer. Some areas we can use volunteers are:

Marketing: Organizing and promoting communication through the use of printed material, Internet access, photography, news coverage, and any other media that helps to gather and share ideas and coordinate joint efforts and activities throughout New Jersey.

Recreation/Mentoring: Development of recreation program and evaluation of present programs for children with special needs to ensure quality and satisfaction.

Fund Raising/Grant Writing: Researching opportunities to bring funding to provide quality programs for special needs children.
